Rolling stock is designed for passenger and freight transportation. Rail rolling stock consists of locomotives (traction rolling stock), motor-car rolling stock and wagons. During freight transportation, electric and diesel locomotives are most commonly used. Platform wagons are used for container and piggyback container transportation.
