«During the meeting, issues related to organising and expanding container train freight shipments from Belarus to China, as well as the delivery of Chinese products to Belarus using the logistics capabilities of the China Merchants Group of companies, were discussed. Further directions for co-operation with Chinese logistics platforms that are part of the China Merchants Group and their logistics provider, Sinotrans, were identified,» the press centre informed.
The parties agreed to liaise on developing new transport and logistics products that are in demand among Belarusian and Chinese shippers, and to establish end-to-end logistics for container trains operating on the China-Europe-China route. This includes co-ordinating the technological processes of terminal handling of container trains at the Dostyk and Brest railway stations, as well as improving co-operation with customs authorities in Belarus and China.
According to the Belarusian Railways’ press centre, a separate topic addressed bilateral co-operation within the framework of implementing the project to build a container railway terminal by the Eurasian Railway Gateway Company on the territory of the Great Stone Industrial Park.
