On October 13th, the China-EU train (Wuhan), fully loaded with 150 Volvo cars, arrived at Wujiashan Station in the Hanxi Bus Service section of Wuhan Railway Group Company 13 days after leaving Poland. Compared with traditional shipping, it only takes consumers more than 20 days from booking a car to picking up the car, and the waiting period is shortened by more than 2/3.
The Eurasian landbridge has contributed to increased sustainable connectivity between the EU and China during the decade of the 2010s. Felicitously, this market-driven development preceded, and also complemented, major foreign economic policy announcements by China and the EU and reinforces their goal of increased connectivity.
