The first freight train departed Monday from Shuanghe City in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region for Moscow, Russia.
The train carried 55 containers of household electrical appliances valued at about 2.1 million US dollars. The Shuanghe special railway line is located near the Alataw Pass port. It has been officially included as a China—Europe railway departure point, further expanding the international logistics corridor connecting Central Asia, Russia and Europe. The new route will initially operate on a weekly basis, reinforcing the resilience of Belt and Road freight services amid evolving global supply chains.
