15.08.2025

The new multimodal terminal in Małaszewicze will become a strategic logistics hub for transportation between China and Europe, combining rail and road services with different track gauges. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Infrastructure Development and Logistics Potential of the Multimodal Terminal

A large-scale project to build a modern multimodal terminal has been launched in Małaszewicze. Container Terminal Mala, part of CLIP Group, is implementing the project in partnership with the Polish company TorKol.

The terminal will be located in the duty-free trade zone near Terespol, on a strategic section close to the Polish-Belarusian border. This location will strengthen its role in international freight transport.

Multimodal Terminal as a Key Transit Link

The project is designed to handle freight flows between China and Europe, including transshipment between the broad 1,520 mm gauge and the European standard 1,435 mm gauge. It will also enable efficient transfers between rail and road transport in both directions.

Construction plans include creating new track infrastructure, upgrading existing reception, departure, and access lines. The terminal will feature modern cargo-handling equipment and advanced IT management systems.

The facility’s development will accelerate cargo processing, reduce idle times, and increase throughput. Experts predict that the complex will become one of the key nodes along the New Silk Road routes.

Completion of construction is scheduled for June 2026. According to CLIP Group management, the terminal will meet international standards, attracting both European and Asian partners. The project will create new jobs and boost the region’s economic potential.
