06.11.2020

RZD Logistics, SNCF Forwardis, Cosco group and UTLC are organising the delivery of medical devices from Nanchang in East China to Paris in France.

A train consisting of 41 forty-foot containers loaded with 40 million medical masks, gloves, gowns, gel dispensers and other protective equipment for hospital staff is now en route. The train is expected to arrive in Paris on June 24 after a 20 days long journey.

The link follows the «southern» transit route through Kazakhstan, which is operated by UTLC. Forwarding on Chinese territory will be provided by Chinese companies Cosco and CRCT. RZD Logistics will be in charge of operations in the 1,520 gauge area and SNCF Forwardis will transport the goods across Europe. Negotiations between the partners in China and Europe were coordinated by Far East Land Bridge (FELB). (ben)

Will China Railway Express boom in 2020?
During the month of December we have celebrated the fifth anniversary of the first cargo train Yiwu-Madrid (China Railway Express). In November of 2014, the Chinese and Spanish Governments both witnessed the longest railway route in the world being born. By then, the company responsible of the initiative, Yixinou, was able to manage one train to one destination. Five years later, we are confident to reach a total number of 500 trains operating to 11 different worldwide destinations departing or arriving in Yiwu, East China’s Zhejiang Province.
