06.02.2025

At an extended government meeting, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the importance of transport and logistics infrastructure for international transit.

He noted that Kazakhstan has a significant advantage in the field of cargo transportation and should use it as efficiently as possible. Particular attention is paid to the Trans-Kazakhstan Railway Corridor as a key element of the Trans-Caspian route.

As part of the modernization of the railway network, the Head of State instructed to begin construction of the new Moiynty — Kyzylzhar line and upgrade the congested sections from Kyzylzhar to the port of Aktau. It is also planned to expand the Altynkol — Zhetygen line, which will increase the capacity of the transport corridor between China and Central Asia.

In addition, the President called for accelerating the digitalization of rail transportation and the development of multimodal transport hubs that combine different modes of transport. According to him, 2024 and 2025 should be breakthrough years for the development of the industry.
